Meet Irina

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Sharon Montessori.  With over 25 years of teaching experience in both public and Montessori schools, I bring passion, dedication and joy when working with children.

I received my BA in education from the Liepaya Pedagogical University in Latvia.  I began my career as an elementary teacher at a public elementary school in Latvia, where I worked for 8 years, teaching grades one through four.  Always interested in expanding my knowledge of educational techniques and strategies, I was introduced to the Montessori philosophy shortly after moving to the United States in 2000.  The more I learned about Dr. Maria Montessori and the Montessori Method the more I felt it was the best educational system for young children to discover the joy of learning.

I received my Montessori training from the New England Montessori Teacher Education Center (NEMTEC) in 2004 and hold Early Childhood Education credentials from the American Montessori Society.

I began as a Lead Guide in Children’s House at a local Montessori School in Milton, MA in 2005 and later took a position at a school in Braintree, MA, before deciding to open my own program.

I am also a Montessori parent.  My three children went through Montessori programs, my youngest at Sharon Montessori.  In addition to my love of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, cooking and gardening.
